To determine America’s best beach towns, WalletHub compared 227 beach communities across the country that have 10,000 and 150,000 residents and at least one beach listed on TripAdvisor®. The website than compared the towns based on the following 6 key dimensions:

• Affordability (i.e. housing costs, household income, property taxes, waterfront properties for sale)

• Weather (i.e. climate, water temperature)

• Safety (i.e. violent crime rate, property crime rate, walkability)

• Economy (i.e. unemployment rate, income growth, population growth)

• Education & Health (i.e. quality of school system, quality of public health system, quality of air and water)

• Quality of Life (i.e. average commute time, number of attractions, restaurants, recreational facilities, etc.)
